In less than two years, Kuala Langat residents will find it convenient to deal with the various government agencies when the Integrated Administrative Centre (IAC) is built to house all the departments under one roof.

The RM20 mil administrative centre, envisioned by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo, will comprise four levels built over 8ha under the first phase.

It will be equipped with broadband network.

Golden Hope Development Sdn Bhd will build the IAC with the supporting facilities spread over 80ha that include houses for the district officer and senior officers as well as staff apartments.

Kuala Langat district officer Rozali Admad said the IAC would be situated at the old Sungai Sedu Plantation, close to Jalan Klang-Banting.

“We have chosen this area as it will provide easy access to the population of 193,500 people, most of whom are farmers. These are 58ha of agricultural land here.

“With the IAC in Sungai Sedu, the administrators will be able to be in touch with the major towns especially Banting, Telok Panglima Garang and Tanjong Sepat,” he said.

Rozali added that the Public Works Department, Land and District Office, Religious Affairs Department, Veterinary Unit, District Health Department, Selangor Water Management Authority, the Royal representative and selected Federal Government officers would be housed in the IAC.

The administrative centre, said Rozali, would help enhance the opportunity for Kuala Langat to serve as a partner if the Federal Government in the development of the Multimedia Super Corridor.

He added that the administrative centre would be significant for the people as Jugra in Kuala Langat was the administrative capital for Selangor and the focus of commerce during Sultan Abdul Samad's reign from 1857 to 1898.
